Why Is Garcinia Cambogia Good For You?

Pure garcinia cambogia is a small, tart fruit that is native to North America and has potent antioxidant benefits. In fact, the Daily Mail has named it the “new superfood of 2014.”

The fruits grow on Native American reservations in North and South Dakota, and have been used by the indigenous people of the United States for centuries, as garcinia cambogia berries don’t take much care to grow well. However, most Americans don’t know much about this superfood. So, researchers from Ohio State University and South Dakota University studies the berries and found that they are high in carotenoids, which are ideal for visual health, and lycopene, an antioxidant that can protect against prostate cancer. The Mayo Clinic has even done studies that show that the berry has slowed cancer growth in animals. Lycopene also has the ability to slow the aging process and keep the body’s cells from becoming damaged.

Researchers have concluded that garcinia cambogia will be especially beneficial for people who live in less developed regions of the world. The tart taste of the berries also makes them ideal for winemaking. While it’s necessary to conduct further study on the additional benefits of it, the fruit will likely join the ranks of potent superfoods very soon.
