Server Side Programing Languages

Server side programming languages

These are web development codes that are saved and run on the server. They are very powerful and they are largely used to query the database and send the information from the database to the browser. They include:

ASP (Active Server pages) this programming language has been developed by Microsoft and was released on the first time in the year 1996. When it was launched for the first time, it was released as an add-on to IIS internet information service. It is popular due to its superior error detection and debugging techniques. Its webpages have the .asp extension at the end.

PHP this is an open source server side scripting language. By being open source it means that its source code is open to anyone to access and improve. The updates come out every three months. It has very powerful objects which are developed by its wide open source community. This has over time made this program a very powerful and reliable programming language, perhaps explains why it is installed in over 250 million websites. What makes it even more interesting is that it is may be used for general purpose programming on the computer.

Java this programming language was first designed in the year 1995 by the Sun microsystems and James Goslings. It was developed by the oracle corporations which has since released up to 7 editions and 45 updates. It is case sensitive meaning it distinguishes between upper case and lower case letters. This intelligent programming language comes in two dialects: pizza and generic java. Interestingly, Java was developed using the C++ and C languages.
